Okay, we all know the Grand Canyon in northern Arizona was presumably formed by the Colorado river and we knew it's been around for a long, long time. But now there's evidence that the Canyon is older than we thought. In fact, it may be older than 55 million years old (now I don't feel so ancient, LOL) And there's thoughts that the river ran in the opposite direction at one time. The Colorado is a pretty powerful river (understatement :D) so a course change is rather remarkable. You can read more here.
