Are you still trying to figure out Steampunk?  Do you have an idea for a Steampunk story but aren't sure what to start?  Are you in the middle of a Steampunk manuscript and need a little help?  Whether you just want to learn what all the buzz is about or have specific spots you need to work on, "Writing Steampunk: From Aether to Zeppelin" can help.   Grab your brass goggles and parasols join us while we learn about Steampunk and the mechanics of a Steampunk story. 

Topics covered include:  What is Steampunk, Steampunk Subgenres, Worldbuilding and Ideology, elements of a Steampunk novel, Steampunk characters and archetypes, science and technology, the roles of women, the darker side of Steampunk, and more...  All genres from kidlit to Steamypunk and all levels of knowledge and manuscript development are welcome.

WHEN: October 31, 2011 through November 30, 2011

WHERE: This workshop will be conducted via a Yahoo! email loop.  Email invitations will be sent 48 hours prior to the beginning of the workshop.


HOW:  Just register for the workshop and complete the payment process via PayPal.  The cost is $15.00 for FFnP members and $25.00 for non-FFnP members.  Payment is due at the time of registration.
Refunds /credits are determined on a case by case basis. If a class should be canceled, then participants have a choice of a credit to be applied to a future workshop or a refund.

WHO: Suzanne Lazear writers steampunk stories for teens. Her YA steampunk dark fairytale "Innocent Darkness" will be released from Flux in 2012. Also known as "Lolita Suzanne," she's part of the popular steampunk group blog "Steamed!" (http://www.ageofsteam.wordpress.com) and has been known to run with bustles and covet tiaras made of clockhands.
